Martin and Dean selected as Lib Dem candidates for Spennymoor

Cllr Dean Ranyard and local campaigner Martin Jones have been selected as the Liberal Democrat candidates for Spennymoor, Middlestone Moor and Byers Green in the May elections for Durham County Council.

Dean is a current member of Spennymoor Town Council and has represented Middlestone Moor over the past four years, whilst Martin has previously served the residents of Spennymoor on both Sedgefield Borough Council and the Town Council in the past.

Dean currently works on the railways as a Train Driver and has children at both St. Charles Primary and Oxclose Nursery Schools.  He has kept in touch with local residents through FOCUS newsletters and has over the past year been a volunteer locally, delivering food parcels and hot meals to vulnerable residents who have been affected by the ongoing Covid pandemic.

Martin is a life long Spennymoor resident with vast experience of dealing with local issues and getting problems reported and fixed.  He volunteers with a local advice service helping people with financial and housing issues.  Martin knows Spennymoor, Middlestone Moor and Byers Green like the back of his hand and will work hard to represent all of our communities.
